NOTES: Updates are listed with most recent post at the top. If you have any specific questions that I can answer regarding activities at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, please e-mail them to me HERE and I'll do my best to post a response below.
7:00 p.m. Well, they turned the lights out on me, so I guess I'll have to pack up and resume getting caught up with things on Friday. No one is here in the media center, but to tell you the truth, it's kind of cool to be alone in this cavernous place, where so much history has taken place. I have to wonder what kind of history will be made this month. More tomorrow...
5:00 p.m. Have been struggling with digital photos this afternoon. A new camera and software that's called Easy Share gives me no way to actually share the photos with you - go figure! I hope I can figure out a better way to let you see what's going on here, but please be patient on Friday as I try to work it out. I have a habit of taking multitudes of photos every day, which leaves little time to label them. I will most likely post them first unlabeled, and then go back and try to give you an idea what you are looking at when I have time.
3:00 p.m. Just drove through torrential rain all the way from Cleveland, arriving in Indy to a rained-out race track - again. A perfect way to end a day that started out with a tire being blown out only 15 minutes away from my house! Most everyone - teams, media, fans - have left the track, and I don't blame them. So, this will be a set-up and "get reacquainted" day for me. Although I've been to Indy many, many years, it still gives me chills to drive into the track for the first time (actually, every time). This is simply one of the most magical places in the world. Although all of the fans are gone, the "yellow shirts" (security guards famous for their attire) are still out in full force, cheery as ever, even in the rain.
